Paris-Henry County Arts Council Writer’s Competition

The Paris-Henry County Arts Council is currently seeking authors to enter their first-ever Writer’s Competition. It is open to any Henry County resident, ages 14 and above, and there is no entry fee.

The theme for the short stories is FICTION and must not excess 1,500 words. Prize money will be given to the top three entries, plus a Judges’ Choice award. First place: $100, second place: $75, third place: $50, Judges’ Choice for best overall story: $150.

If enough entries are submitted, the Council plans to publish the stories in book form.

Authors may submit up to three stories, but prize money will only be awarded to one story. Deadline for completed manuscript must be received by email no later than 11:59 pm, February 8, 2021.
