An Evening with Cherry Jones and The Eyes of Tammy Faye

Cherry Jones as Tammy Faye Bakker’s mother,
Rachel Grover, in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

Actress Cherry Jones is returning home for a screening of her recent movie, The Eyes of Tammy Fay, April 26 at the Parisian Theatre. A moderated Q & A is included in the ticket price, all of which supports the Historic Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Association (HAPNA) Botanical Garden.

The (HAPNA) Botanical Garden, located at 311 Jackson Street in the heart of the neighborhood is Paris’ first botanical garden and is open to the public. “It’s a special, little spot to relax and enjoy the variety of flora and fauna that abound here. We are grateful to Cherry for her love of this garden and her willingness to support it with this event,” says Rachel Terrell, HAPNA president.

A three-time Emmy winner (24, The Handmaid’s Tale, Succession) and two-time Tony winner (The Heiress, Doubt: A Parable), Jones is a 1974 graduate of Henry County High School and a former student of Linda Wilson Miller. Along with stage and television, Jones’ film credits include Signs, Wine Country, and Oceans 12.

“The lovely botanical garden, with its summer children’s programming and those fabulous Halloween and Christmas displays, is so worthy of support. April 26th is everyone’s opportunity to show this creative neighborhood project some love,” says Jones.

“My favorite thing about the evening is that Mike Wilson will be the emcee. So I encourage everyone to get your questions ready and purchase your tickets, pronto,” she advises.

Movie/Q & A tickets are $25. A Meet and Greet package is available for $45. This VIP experience is limited to 25 people and includes wine and hors d’oeuvres, event poster, plus selfie and autograph time with Jones in the theatre prior to the screening. Preferential seating also is included. The theatre is located at 161 Jim Adams Drive. Tickets are available through EventBrite.com or at RE/MAX Cornerstone Real Estate, 1011 Locust Street in Paris.

The event is sponsored by Parisian Theatre, Susan Jones Public Relations and RE/MAX Cornerstone. For more information, call RE/MAX Cornerstone at 731-642-7362.
