This weekend is going to be hot and a cool way to cool off is coming this weekend.
The Friends of Cross Creeks National Wildlife Refuge in Dover are planning a canoe/kayak event and reservations are needed. The event is free, but you need to reserve your spot. Saturday, July 23, 9 a.m. to noon.
This year they will be paddling over to a spring on the Cross Creeks NWR. It’s a great turn around spot that allows folks to get a quick cooling off swim before paddling back. We have a limited number of canoes/kayaks for use or you can bring your own gear. Either way, you need to RSVP to 731-642-2091 or Joan_Howe@fws.gov.
