Henry County Office Reopening

The Henry County Office on Aging/Conger Senior Citizen Center will allow seniors to come into the center beginning Tuesday, October 6, 2020. The hours will be from 8:30 AM-11:30 AM-Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays, the hours will be from 8AM-11 AM.

Director Reggie Caldwell said the Senior Citizen Center will be closed on Mondays.

The state has required senior center directors to limit participants in order to provide social distancing, he said, and some restrictions will be followed to maintain everyone’s safety.

Henry County Office on Aging staff will check temperatures before allowing entrance to the center. Anyone with a temp of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to stay in the center. All seniors are required to wear masks.

Caldwell said the offices have masks available and hand sanitizer stations. There will be hand sanitizer available throughout the center as well. No outside food or drinks will be allowed in the center. Snacks and bottled water will be provided. “We are asking the seniors to sit in one seat throughout the day,” he said.

Northwest Nutrition: Due to Covid-19, congregate meals are to remain closed currently. The state is reviewing steps and a potential timing and will issue further guidance on congregate meal settings.

Zumba and Line Dancing Classes: Zumba and Line Dancing classes will take place in the gym at Central Community Building. Social distancing will be in effect. Zumba will begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 9 AM. Zumba classes will be held every Tuesday until further notice. Line Dancing will begin on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 10 AM.

Caldwell said, “Thanks for your patience. We love each and everyone.”

The center is located at 55 Jones Bend Rd., Paris. If you have any questions, please call 731-642-2919, 731-642-3139 or 731-644-3193.
