Henry County Tornado Relief Fund

The Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s Community Fund has established a Tornado Relief effort for those affected by last week’s storms.

Henry County Emergency Management Director Ron Walkins estimates the need for Henry County’s relief efforts to be over $100,000.  NWS Memphis confirmed the Henry County Tornado was an EF3 with winds 136-165 mph. 17 homes were destroyed or heavily damaged with 59 others with light to moderate damage. 5 people were injured. In total, at least 30 agricultural barns and two chicken houses were destroyed.  There are several families in need of tree removal and roof and home repairs.

Chamber CEO Travis McLeese noted that they will work with EMA Director Watkins and Henry County Mayor John Penn Ridgeway to best serve the community with the funds collected.
