Paris Special School District will resume face-to-face instruction for students on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Students who have been in the virtual learning model in grades 3-8 may return to campus on 9/8/2020.
Students in K-8 who choose to remain in the Virtual Academy for their instruction will have no change to their daily instruction. Lunch will continue to be provided for pick up at Rhea Elementary or for delivery by bus. Parents must call each day to have lunch prepared for their students in the Virtual Academy.
When students return to school, they must bring their laptop in the laptop bag, power cord, hot spot, and any other technology provided by PSSD on Tuesday, September 8. All technology will be checked in at each school to make sure what was provided has been returned. Students will continue to use technology in the regular instructional process, and we want to make sure that all students have the materials and supplies needed for high quality instruction.
Buses will run on their regular schedules for all K-8 students on Tuesday, September 8. Please call Ms. Charlotte Robertson, Transportation Coordinator, at 731-363-2322 for any questions related to bus number, morning or afternoon pick up and drop off times, etc. Masks are required on buses.
All students will return to campus on the same day. We ask for your patience in the car rider lines as we will be conducting health screenings before students enter the buildings. Masks are expected in the buildings. If your child does not have a mask, one will be provided.
We are able to move back into our yellow phase or scenario 2 on the PSSD Re-Entry plan because our safe and healthy protocol has been working effectively with our K-2 students who have been in face-to-face instruction. Please note that we will strictly enforce our precautionary health protocols. We will practice “Wash Up – Mask Up – Move Apart” to slow the spread of germs and keep our students in school.
