Looking for a fun activity to do after Thanksgiving? Join them at Fort Donelson National Battlefield for some holiday weekend hikes through the battlefield on Friday November 26th and Saturday November 27th to walk off some of that extra turkey weight. These hikes will follow some of the trails that go throughout the historic battlefield at Fort Donelson. Along the way, a Ranger will share information of the battle and some stories of the soldiers that fought here.
Hikes both days will begin at 9 a.m. at the Fort Donelson National Battlefield Visitor Center. The Visitor Center is located at 120 Fort Donelson Park Road in Dover, Tennessee. The trails at Fort Donelson National Battlefield are considered moderate. However, there are sections that contain steep terrain. Please dress accordingly for the weather and be sure to bring water and wear appropriate footwear.
