A Wings, Etc. franchise is planned for the development planned by Jamie Orr on East Wood St.
Paris Business Owner Dharmesh Patel said the plans to bring Wings, Etc. to Paris have been in the works for some six months. “We’ve been working hard on this for awhile now and we think people will really like it,” he said.
Patel also is owner of JB’s Express Mart and will be operating the convenience store which also is planned for the Orr development.
Wings, Inc. offers a variety of menu items, including wings (of course), burgers, seafood, sandwiches, nachos, chili, fresh salads, and a long line of appetizers. “It’s something like an Applebee’s,” Patel said. “It’s family-friendly, with sports on the TV and good food.”
The development has been planned for over a year and has been presented to the Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission as the phases are developed. It will be located at 1355 E. Wood St. near the intersection with Fairgrounds Rd.
When Orr first presented the development to the planning commission and city commission, he said from the beginning he hoped to have a restaurant included in the plans. The development will include Orr’s financial planning office, a branch of Holley Credit Union, convenience store and now the restaurant.
Phase 1 of the development was approved at the planning commission’s May meeting and the latest plans were approved at the commission’s meeting Thursday evening contingent on TDOT permits.
Orr earlier announced he would be tearing down the building which formerly housed the Wing-N-It restaurant, which closed earlier this year.
