2021 World’s Biggest Fish Fry Not Cancelled; Organizers Meeting On Safety Issues

The World’s Biggest Fish Fry 2021 has not been cancelled.

That’s the word from 2021 Fish Fry General Manager Loria Plunk. “The Executive Board has met and will meet again after we get some answers for questions that we have,” she said, “because we do not want to do anything that is unsafe for our community.”

No official decision has yet been made, but officials will keep the public updated, she said.

The Fish Fry is historically held the last full week of April of each year. The 2020 World’s Biggest Fish Fry was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

One thing is official, though: the pageants will not be held at the end of January like they usually are. “But we will keep everyone updated,” she said.

Plunk said, “We felt we needed to get the word out there that we are thinking about it and we want everyone to know as last year we want to make sure people are safe and we are doing what is right.”
