Outdoor Kids’ Weekend at Woodlands Nature Station

The Friends of Land Between the Lakes invite the public to bring the family to Woodlands Nature Station during Labor Day Weekend for Outdoor Kids’ Weekend, a kid-friendly foray into some basic but important outdoor and camping skills. From learning about backyard opossums to practicing fishing skills, guests will learn new ways to enjoy the outdoors.

Programming highlights include:

-DIY Animal Track Books (Saturday, Sept. 3 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

-Sunset Canoe Trips (Saturday, Sept. 3 and Sunday, Sept. 4, 5-7:30 p.m., registration required, call 270.924.2020 to register)

-Bonfire Basics (Sunday, Sept. 4, 1-3 p.m.)

-Wild Edibles Hike (Monday, Sept. 5, 11:30 a.m.)

-Campfire Cooking (while supplies last) (Monday, Sept. 5 1-3 p.m.)

Outdoor Kids’ Weekend will take place at the Woodlands Nature Station inside Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, 3146 Silver Trail Road, Cadiz, Kentucky, 42211 from Saturday, September 3 to Monday, September 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here for the full program schedule.
